Lewis Bernard Papin

       Lewis “Bud” Papin, age 49, died March 29, 1967. He was born August 28, 1917 in Chaffee to Alvin and Ava Ligon papin. He married Dixie Dimple Shores of Chaffee on September 25, 1936. He served with U.S. Army during WWII as a M/Sgt in European Theater Operation.

       He began working for Chaffee Post Office and was postmaster at the time of his death. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Chaffee.

       He is survived by his wife, a son Linn Bernard Papin and a daughter, Mrs. Donald R. (Patty) Mowery, his parents of Jefferson City, MO a brother Joseph R. Papin sisters, Mrs. Stanley Harris and Mrs. Charles Schwaller and one granddaughter.

       He resided at 416 Gray Ave.

Linn Bernard Papin

       Linn B. Papin, age 31, died October 5, 1972. He was born September 22, 1941 in Chaffee to Lewis Bernard and Dixie Dymple Shores Papin. He died of disseminated lupus erythematosus. He graduated from Chaffee High School and Semo State College with a B.S. Degree in Geology in 1965.He began working as a geologist for the Federal Government in OK. He retired due to ill health in January 1971.

       He is survived by two daughters; Cheryl Lynn (9) and Beth Ann Papin (4), his mother, a sister, Mrs. Donald R. (Patty) Mowery, maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry M. Shores and paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Papin.

       He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Chaffee.

Walter E. Parks

    Walter Edmund Parks, 54 years old, of Chaffee, Bell City School System Band Director, was killed instantly when the station wagon he was driving struck a sign post on Interstate Highway 55 near Cape Girardeau Municipal Airport.

   The State Highway Patrol said Mr. Parks’ death was the first fatality.  Witnesses to the accident said Mr. Parks may have fallen asleep. Cape County Coroner Don Kremer said no inquest will be held.

   Mr. Parks was born June 6, 1911, in Wichita, Kn,  son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Parks. His mother of Tulsa, Ok survives.

   The family moved to Marshall, where Mr. Parks attended school. In 1936 he received a BA degree from the Missouri Valley the Evangelical and Reformed Church in Cape Girardeau for nine years.

    Survivors are his mother, his wife, a son Walter E. Parks Jr. of East St. Louis, Il, a daughter, Mrs. Mark L. (Erma Beth) Holland of Baltimore, Md, three brothers John, Paul and Donald Parks of Tulsa, Ok, and a sister Mrs. M.J. Letjen, Kansas City. Mr. Parks was a member of the Methodist Church of Chaffee, the National Education Association, the Missouri State Teachers College at Marshall and the Bollinger County Teachers Association.

    The body is at Bisplinghoff Funeral Home at Chaffee, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Friday. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

       Mamie Parson was born in Wittenburg, MO to Mr. and Mrs. (Elizabeth) Whipps Jacoby. She married Robert Benjamin Parson on May 2, 1912. He died August 13, 1971.

       Robert B. Parson, age 86, died August 13, 1971. He was born in Redding, PA on November 21, 1884 to Benjamin Parson. He resided at 331 E. Davidson.

       He married Mamie Jacoby of Cape on May 2, 1912.

       Surviving are his wife, daughter, Mrs. Ruth Baker and granddaughter Mrs. Wm. Aceves.

       Jackson Patterson, age 65, died November 3, 1982. He was born Augu

 27, 1917 in Vanduser, MO to Marshal Arnold and Margaret Milsey Samules Patterson. He married Omiegean Randles on April 18, 1942.

       He is survived by his wife; a son Ronald Patterson and a half sister, Hattie Mae Carey.

Lue Patterson

Mr. Lue Patterson, passed away April 21, 1957, in a St. Louis hospital where he had been admitted the day before. He was born near Bloomfield, MO on July 24, 1877, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Patterson, he was never married.

He lived in Bloomfield until 1945 when he moved to Chaffee. Three years ago he moved to St. Louis and made his home with his sister, Mrs. Pickard Greer. He was a farmer most of his life.

The body was brought to Stubbs Funeral Home. Services were conducted at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Edward Walsh officiating.

Interment was in Union Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were Webb Blocker, Clyde Jenkins, Clarence Williams, Tom Ancell, Lloyd Taylor and Lucas Heeb.

       Ella Peal, age 73, died August 24, 1982. She was born November 30, 1908 in Benton, MO to Dr. Uriel Pierce and Mabel Hunter Haw. She married Charles S. Peal on July 5, 1925. He died January 28, 1949.

       She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. W. H. (Staphen) Gettings and two sisters, Miss Uriel Haw and Mrs. T. S. Crites.

   Armon Lester Peer, 80 years old, died at 1 p.m. Friday at Chateau Girardeau in Cape.

   Born, August 26, 1902, at Poplar Bluff, son of the late Wm. J. and Lula Mae Randles Peer. He was employed as a machinist for the Frisco Railroad Company from 1922 to 1965 when he retired. A member of the First Baptist Church, following his retirement Peer became interested in photography art and woodworking. He has also served on the Chaffee School Board from 1945-46.

    On October 12, 1922 he married Elena Moseley of Morehouse, Mo who survives. Other survivors include, one son Gene Peer of Jacksonville, Fl, one daughter, Mrs. Al (Pat) Westland of Memphis, one sister, Mrs. Donald Perkins of Solona Beach, Ca. Six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

   The body is at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Services will be conducted at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Collier, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.

    Pallbearers were grandsons, George and Stuart Westland. Also  Gene Peer, Linus Meyer, Keith Moore and J.P. Montgomery.

       Leona Pennington, age 80, died November 9, 1976. She was born December 23, 1895 in Poplar Bluff, MO to James Willis and Dena Vashti Ham Hoffman. She married Wm. T. Pennington of Rombauer, Mo on December 31, 1912. They moved to Chaffee in 1918.

       She is survived by a son, Clarence E. Pennington; two daughters, Juanita Slinkard and Geneva Bobo; two sisters, Mrs. Hubert Allenworth and Mrs. Marion Benton; three step sisters, Mrs. Harry Bess, Mrs. Elvis and Orland Buttry. She was preceded in death by a son Paul O. Pennington on September 13, 1966.

       She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chaffee.

She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee.

 

   

Ralph V Penrose

Ralph V. Penrose, 68, of Chaffee died May 26, 1994.

He was born August 9, 1925, son of Harry and Maggie Ethel Payton Penrose of Benton, MO. He and Marceline Hatley were married May 17, 1946.

Penrose retired in 1988 after 35 years as a journeyman for Associated Natural Gas.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Danny and Alan Penrose both of Chaffee; two daughters, Linda Lindy of Chaffee and Vicki Windham of Dexter; one brother, Wm. Penrose of Benton; and two sisters, Zalma Woods of Sikeston and Zella Coerver of St. Louis; six grandchildren and one grandchild.

Funeral services were held at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James W. Hatley officiating assisted by Rev. R. L. Robinson and Wm. Marshall. Burial was in Forest Hills Memorial Garden Cemetery near Morley.

     Alvena Gertrude Pfefferkorn, 85, died June 1, 1993, at Southeast Hospital.

     She was born February 6, 1908, at Chaffee, daughter of Michael Henry and Gertrude Blocker Witt.

Pfefferkorn worked 30 years at Bukstein Pants Factory and Thorngate Ltd. She retired in 1972 as a final examiner. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

     Survivors include a son, Paul Pfefferkorn of Chaffee; two sisters, Iola Witt and Velda Witt of Chaffee; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

     Funeral services were held at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Collier officiating. Burial was in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.

            Miss Anita K. Pfefferkorn, 75 years old, of Chaffee, died Wednesday in Chaffee General Hospital, where she had been a patient since Sunday.

            She was born Aug. 24, 1907, daughter of Wm. Andrew and Helen Mary Enderle Pfefferkorn.

            Miss Pfefferkorn was a secretary at Chaffee Lumber Co. She was a member of St. Ambrose parish and its Daughters of St. Ambrose. She was also a member of the Chaffee VFW Auxiliary, Chaffee RSVP and a Pink Lady at Chaffee General Hospital.

            Surviving are two brothers, E. Mike and Paul Pfefferkorn of Chaffee.

            Three brothers preceded her in death.

            The body is at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel here, where friends may call after 6:30 tonight.

            A rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7:30 Friday.

            Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Church with Rev Richard Rolwing officiating.

            Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery.

            Pallbearers will be Bill, David, Mark, Michael, Paul Dewayne and John Pfefferkorn.

 

   

Donald Pfefferkorn

Funeral for Donald Ray Pfefferkorn of Cape were held at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Lewis Hejna officiating, assisted by Rev. Vyron Yount. Burial was in St. Ambrose Catholic Church cemetery.

Pfefferkorn, 60, died April 23, 2001 at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born August 16, 1940 in Delano, CA, son of E. Mike and Ruth Ervin Pfefferkorn.

He was an assembly line operator at VIP Industries at Fruitland, MO. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee.

Survivors include his mother of Chaffee, and a brother, Michael Pfefferkorn of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his father.

    Mrs. Helen Marie Pfefferkorn, 74 years old, died at 5 a.m. today at her home in Chaffee. She apparently died in her sleep.  She resided at 507 S. Third.

   Mrs. Pfefferkorn was born Jan. 17, 1885, at Kelso, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Enderle. She was married on Oct. 23, 1906 to Wm. A. Pfefferkorn of Chaffee.

   He established the Chaffee Lumber Company many years ago. Mr. Pfefferkorn died May 12, 1946. The business is still operated by his sons.

    Mrs. Pfefferkorn was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church here and of the Daughters of St. Ambrose.

     Surviving are one daughter, Miss Anita Pfefferkorn of Chaffee, four sons, Raymond of Oran and Ralph, Paul and E, Mike Pfefferkorn of Chaffee; two brothers, Joe

and Frank Enderle of Fort Wayne, In, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

   The body is at Bisplinghoff Funeral Home here. The Rosary will be recited by the Daughters of St. Ambrose at 7:30 tonight and by Knights of Columbus of Cape Girardeau at 8:30 Friday night. Funeral services will be at 9 o’clock Saturday morning at St. Ambrose Church by the pastor, Rev. Thomas Geraghty. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery.

    Pallbearers are Alvin Enderle, Leo Trapp, G.A. Heisserer, Marvin Eichhorn, L.D. Lankford and Robert Capshaw.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lucille M. Pfefferkorn of Chaffee were held at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel with Rev. Raymond Kunkel, pastor of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, and Rev. Wm. Stanton, pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Jackson, and Rev. Ernest Lee of Chaffee, officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape.

Mrs. Pfefferkorn, 67, died at Firmin-Desloge Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born February 22, 1914, at Rockview, daughter of John Wm. and Kathryn Rosenberg Gornet. She and Ralph Pfefferkorn were married May 27, 1937. He died July 10, 1979.

She was a member of St. Ambrose Church and taught school there from 1958-70.

Survivors include, one son, John Ralph Pfefferkorn and a daughter, Mrs. James (Sherry) Davis of Chaffee; her mother; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

 

Mrs. Paul (Marjorie) Pfefferkorn

   Mrs. Paul Pfefferkorn, 69 years old, of Chaffee, died at the family home here following an extended illness.

   The former Marjorie Davidson was born November 16, 1913, in Illmo, daughter of the late Isadore and Myrtle Clark Davidson. She married Mr. Pfefferkorn on September 7, 1934, and he survives.

   She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church here and was a past president of the Daughters of St. Ambrose, she was a member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion in Chaffee, past president of the VFW Post here and past president of the Chaffee General Pink Ladies.

    One brother preceded her in death.

   Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three sons, Bill of Chaffee, Dr. David Pfefferkorn of Sikeston, and Mark of Chaffee, a daughter Mrs. Pat Vessell, Rolla, three brothers, Louis, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Frances and Paul Davidson both of Scott City, Missouri, 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mark Pfefferkorn

   Mark A. Pfefferkorn, 28 years old, of Chaffee, died at 6:55 Wednesday in Missouri Delta Community Hospital at Sikeston following a short illness.

   Mark was born in Cape December 24, 1954, a son of Paul and Marjorie Davidson Pfefferkorn. His father of Chaffee, survives.

   He was manager of Chaffee Lumber Company and was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. He also was a member of the Chaffee Jaycees, and was a past president of the organization, a member of the Chaffee Auxiliary Police Department and the Chaffee Fire Department for 10 years, he was also a member of Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810.

    He married Carla Shoemaker November 25, 1980. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Brian Pfefferkorn, a stepson, Eric Hanselman and a step daughter, Wendy Hanselman, all of the home, two brothers, Bill of Chaffee and David of Sikeston, a sister, Mrs. Pat Vessell of Rolla.

    Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee after 7 tonight. The rosary  will be recited at 7:30 Friday night at the funeral home. At 8 Friday, a prayer service will be conducted at the funeral home by Rev. Marvin Graham, pastor of the Vanduser Baptist Church.

     Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Church by the Rev. Raymond Kunkel, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

 

Michael Alan Pfefferkorn

   Funeral services for Michael Alan Pfefferkorn of Chaffee were held at 10 a.m. Thursday morning at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church here with the Rev. Raymond Kunkel officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

   A parish rosary was recited at 7 Wednesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Rulen and Brian Knox, Ronnie Rister, Michael Lee, and Greg and David Dittlinger. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the 1978 graduating class of Chaffee High School and the school’s faculty.

   Michael, 17 years old, was dead on arrival at St. Francis Hospital following a three car accident in Jackson at 10:23 Monday night.

   Born September 20, 1960, in Cape, he was the son of Paul Dewayne and Mary Jane Thompson Pfefferkorn of Chaffee. He graduated in May from Chaffee High School and was employed by Kentucky Fried Chicken in Jackson, Missouri. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.

    Surviving him are his parents, a brother, Kurt Lee of the home, sisters, Karen Lynne, Dianna Marie and Stephanie Mae Pfefferkorn all of the home, paternal grandmother, Mrs. Alvena Pfefferkorn, Chaffee and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Josephine Thompson of Benton.

 

Otto Theon Pfefferkorn

   Otto Theon Pfefferkorn, 78 years old, of Chaffee, former postmaster of this city, died at 6:30 this morning in a Cape Hospital.

    Mr. Pfefferkorn was born March 24, 1892 at New Hamburg, Missouri. He attended grade school at New Hamburg and high school at Oran.

   In 1910, he graduated from Gem City Business College, Quincy, Il and in 1911 was employed as assistant cashier by the Bank of Fornfelt, now the Scott City Bank and Trust Company.

    Mr. Pfefferkorn moved to this city in 1912. He was employed by the Chaffee Lumber Co., which was established by his brother, Wm Pfefferkorn. He became a stockholder and was elected Secretary-Treasurer and office manager for the company.

    Mr. Pfefferkorn served seven years as secretary of the Chaffee Chamber of Commerce and was a veteran of World War I. He was also a charter member of the Aubuchon-Alsobrook American Legion Post 389 of Chaffee, serving as its commander in 1941 and 1942.

   In November of 1921, he married the former Miss Amanda Metz, who survives.

   In 1923, Mr. Pfefferkorn was appointed by the governor to membership in the Scott county Citizens Committee to promote the first state road bond issue.

   In 1934, he was appointed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt as inspector for the Federal Home Owners Loan Corporation, serving two years. He was appointed Chaffee postmaster by President Roosevelt, October 1, 1936, a position he held until his retirement March 31, 1962.

     Mr. Pfefferkorn was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church here and the Men’s Club and the Legion of Mary. He was past secretary of the Southeast Missouri  Retail Lumber Dealers Association.

    Survivors include a son, Robert of San Francisco, Ca, a brother, Joe Pfefferkorn of Oran and a granddaughter, Miss Laura Pfefferkorn, Sikeston.

    The body is at the Amick Burnett Funeral Home here, where friends may call after 10:30 Thursday morning. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 Friday night at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 Saturday morning at St. Ambrose Church with the Rev. James Holmes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

   Ralph A. Pfefferkorn, a life long resident of Chaffee, died Tuesday afternoon at about 4:30 at his home. He was 67 years old.

   Mr. Pfefferkorn was the vice president of the Chaffee Lumber Company at the time of his death.

   He was born on July 27, 1911 in Chaffee. He was a retired mail carrier. He began his employment with the postal service in 1930 as a clerk. He was rural carrier from February, 1957 until July 1972.

    On May 27, 1937, he married the former Miss Lucille M. Garnet of Chaffee.

    He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee and the National Rural Letter Carriers Association.

    Survivors include his wife, a son John R. Pfefferkorn of Cape, a daughter, Mrs. Sherry Davis of Chaffee, two brothers, E. Mike and Paul Paul Pfefferkorn of Chaffee, a sister, Anita Pfefferkorn of Chaffee, four grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Raymond Joseph Pfefferkorn

       Raymond J. Pfefferkorn, age 55, died March 27, 1965. He was born May 11, 1909 in Chaffee to Wm. Andrew and Helen Mary Enderle Pfefferkorn. He had been in Jefferson Barracks Hospital for 4 years.

       He was employed with a construction company prior to 1936 at which time he became associated with his father in the Chaffee Lumber Company as Manager of the Company in Oran.. During WWII he served in Europe and received the Silver Star. He was disabled in 1945 and returned to the Chaffee Lumber Co. He became ill and last worked on January 24, 1960.

       He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran.

       He is survived by a son, Paul Dewayne Pfefferkorn brothers, Ralph, E. Mike, and Paul Pfefferkorn. One infant son preceded him in death.

 

   

PFEFFERKORN, RUTH ERVIN

Ruth Ervin Pfefferkorn, 89, of Chaffee died June 4, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 31, 1914, at Cape Girardeau, daughter of Edward Marion and Mary Leona Crump Ervin.

She and E. "Mike" Pfefferkorn were married on Dec. 31, 1938; he preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1986.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Chaffee, Mo., where she taught both children and adult Sunday school classes for many years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810. She also belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Cape Girardeau Eagles Aeries 3775. She regularly volunteered at the Chaffee Nutrition Center with the RSVP. She also volunteered as an ombudsman to the nursing home centers in Chaffee and Bloomfield, Mo. She was active in the LeBonheur Club, a women's community service organization. She was the leading spirit in the drive to raise funds to build the current Chaffee Library building. Her hobby of writing poetry provided the manuscript for the 1955 Chaffee Jubilee play and a series of anonymous tongue-in-cheek letters to the editor of the local newspaper.

She was a retired secretary for Florsheim Shoe Company in Chaffee, working from 1956 to 1976.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sandra Pfefferkorn Sr. of St. Louis; two grandchildren and a granddaughter-in-law, Michael and Sharon Pfefferkorn, Jr., and Patricia Hutchison of St. Louis; three great-grandchildren, Molly Pfefferkorn, Sarah and Colin Hutchison, of St. Louis; and a sister, Joseta Barker of Trenton, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Pfefferkorn; three brothers, Lawrence, Charles "Jack" and Hardin Ervin; two sisters, Lora Ervin and Hazel Moore.

Friends may call at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral will be at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Vyron Yount will officiate and Father Raphael Moore will assist. Burial will follow in the St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery in Chaffee.

       Wilma Pfefferkorn, age 81, died June 26, 1998. She was born February 22, 1917 in Chaffee to Adam John and Lula Unnerstall Halter. She married Raymond J. Pfefferkorn on July 5, 1940. He died March 29, 1965.

       She is survived by a step-son, Paul Dewayne Pfefferkorn; two step brothers, John Woodrow and Norman Morgan.

       She was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, MO.

       A daughter, Barbara Pfefferkorn preceded her in death.

PHEGLEY, ALBERT

Albert W. Phegley, 69, of Chaffee died January 6, 1990, at a hospital in Cape.

Born November 11, 1920, in Bell City to Albert Manning and Mary Addie Vaillant Phegley, he was a clerk carrier for the Chaffee Post Office and a retired self-employed farmer. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a member of VFW Post #3127, American Legion Post #389 both of Chaffee and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Chaffee.

On May 11, 1940, he married Rosie Young, who survives.

Preceding him in death was a daughter, Connie, two brothers and two sisters.

Other survivors include; two sons, James A. Phegley of Chaffee, Rodney S. Phegley of the home; one daughter, Barbara Piper of Dallas, TX; two brothers, Jewell Phegley of Dexter and Dempsey Phegley of Fairview Heights, IL; three sisters, Ruby Gregory of Woodland, CA, Ida Perry of Sikeston and Lila Campbell of Dexter; two granddaughters, Juli Drusch of Dallas and Marcy Phegley of Chaffee.

Services were held at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. B. G. Corn officiating with burial in Forest Hills Memorial Garden Cemetery near Morley.

Bessie Elizabeth Dudley Phelps, 76, died Dec. 2, 2004, at her home.

She was born Sept. 11, 1928, in Randles, Mo., daughter of Ned Edward and Hazel McComas Menz.

She married Robert Joe Dudley March 21,1947. He died Dec. 15,1989. She married John Thomas Phelps Sr., March 8, 1996.

She worked for Sports Specialty Shoe Factory and Superior Electric Co. She was a member of the Assembly of God church of Lake Girardeau.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Robert Dudley of Whitewater; a daughter, Jo Ann Stovall of Chaffee; a brother, Edward "Sonny" Menz of Wilmington, Ill; two sisters, Jane James of Arbor, Mo., and Katie Magruder of Kankakee, Ill.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

Funeral will be at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home with her son, Robert Dudley, officiating.  Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.

Pobst, 43, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at his home.

He was born Nov. 11, 1959, in Cape Girardeau, son of Gary F. and Anne Evans Pobst. He and Heather Marie Andreen were married Aug. 14, 1998.

Pobst was a truck driver with Richard's Trucking Co. in Cape Girardeau.

Marcella Pobst, 96, of Chaffee died April 9, 2008, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

She was born Aug. 1, 1911, at Randles, daughter of Anton Joseph and Corena Eve Mier Reiminger. She and Frank T. Pobst were married Feb. 19, 1936. He died Jan. 31, 1991.

Pobst moved to Chaffee in 1960 from Caney Creek. She retired from Florsheim Shoe Co. in Chaffee in 1975. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and Daughters of St. Ambrose.

Survivors include two sons, Gary and Melvin Pobst of Oran, Mo.; two daughters, Alice Glaus of Scott City, Judy Sanders of Oak Ridge; a brother, Raymond Reiminger of Jackson; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, two brothers and a grandson.

Visitation at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Parish prayers followed by Knights of Columbus prayers.  Funeral at St. Ambrose Church, with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial will be in St. Ambrose Cemetery.
