Leroy Yockel, age 92, died October 10, 1990. He was born August 27,
1898 in Kansas City, KS to Frederick Jacob and Mary Elizabeth Long Yockel.
He married Mildred Stubbs.
He resided at 218 Davidson.

Mrs. Leroy Yockel
Chaffee-1965-Missourian
Mrs. Mildred Yockel, 57 years old, a teacher in the Chaffee
schools for 37 yeas, died of cancer Friday in a hospital in Cape
Girardeau. She had been ill six months.
Wife of
Leroy Yockel, she had resided in Chaffee all her life.
Mrs.
Yockel began her teaching career in Randles, Missouri, but after a brief
period, came to Chaffee school system where she was continually on the
faculty of the elementary school until illness forced her retirement
last February. For eight years she served as principal of the school.
Born
September 12, 1908, in Chaffee, Mrs. Yockel was the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. H.F. Stubbs.
She
was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church and belonged to its
Business Women’s Circle. She also held membership in the Order of
Eastern Star and Chapter CX PEO.
She
and Mr. Yockel were married July 9, 1949 in Springfield.
Besides
her husband, survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Stone and Mrs.
Tony Garito, a brother, Clyde M. Stubbs, and three nephews, James M.,
Eugene L. and Lynn Stubbs, all of Chaffee.
Eastern Star services will be held at Stubbs
Funeral Home at 7 tonight. Funeral services will be conducted at 2
Sunday afternoon at First Baptist Church by the Rev. R.L. Robinson.
Interment will be in Union Park Cemetery.

Sadie M York
Funeral services for Sadie Mae York of
Chaffee were held at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Rev. Arvil
Huffman officiated with burial in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape.
Mrs. York, 82 years old, died October
29, 1987, at Advance Nursing Center.
She was born December 20, 1904, at
Advance, daughter of Wm. and Clara Bell Browning Goodman.
She was formerly of Cape. She was a
member of the General Baptist Church in Chaffee, and was a member of the
Chaffee Chapter of Scott County RSVP.
On May 12, 1933, she married John Frank
York. He died in 1972.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four
brothers and three sisters.

Dossie Marie Yount
April 12, 1917
Dossie Marie, youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Yount, died
Saturday at Chaffee. The little one had been an invalid all her life.
Funeral services were held at the home Monday at 9 o’clock by Rev. W. J.
Ward.

YOUNT, VERA LEONA
Vera Leona Yount, 85, died May 20, 1986, at Southeast
Missouri Hospital in Cape.
She was born December 31, 1900, near Marble Hill,
daughter of Wm. Peter and Sarah Ellen Limbaugh Wallis, and was a member
of the Church of God of Prophecy.
On November 5, 1919, she married John Henry Yount of
Marble Hill. He preceded her in death August 11, 1950. Two sons, one
sister and one half brother also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two half brothers, Earl Fulbright of
Marble Hill and Shelby Fulbright of Lutesville; and one grandson and
three great-grandsons.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee was in charge of
arrangements.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of God
of Prophecy with the Rev. Michael W. Scott officiating. Burial was in
Baker Cemetery in Lutesville.
