We will document "Tywappity Trail" in
counter-clockwise fashion.
So ..... across the Dam we go ............
| |
| |
After crossing the Dam .....
the Tywappity Trail enters the woods .....
But as you pass between these 2 large trees,
turn back and look at the lake ......
..... it
is beautiful.
I hope you brought your camera
| |
| |
Immediately after entering the woods
.....
you come to your first "Foot-Bridge"
You will run on to several of these bridges
..... they are a
pleasure, and make the trail a lot more safe
(Hey, if you are counting, this is
bridge #1)
| |
| |
Nice view of the boat ramp from this
foot-bridge
(bridge #2)
| |
| |
From a small cove (not really a cove)
you can look across to the boat launch area
(bridge #3)
| |
| |
Hey .... not just bridges on this trail ...
How about a small boardwalk
Try now to hum that song, something about
"Down on the Boardwalk...Down by the Sea"
| |
| |
From this
footbridge .....
Look at the "2-man boulders" on the upstream
side
Huh, what is a "2-man boulder", you ask?
Ask any old railroader
(Bridge #4)
| |
| |
The trail is very easy to follow
.....
But watch and don't sprain an ankle on a
tree root or uneven surface
After a recent rain, the trail can become
very slippery in certain spots.
| |
| |
A "Pair" of footbridges .....
Perhaps we could call this area "Twin
Bridges"
You are back in the very first serious
"Cove"
Usually lots of shade back here
| |
| |
Bridge #7 is a very short walk from Twin
Bridges (#5 & #6)
This is the last bridge before we get to the
rest stop we will call "Pine Point"
The Trail will now have a few more ups &
downs to navigate towards our first rest stop, but it is not difficult
| |
| |
Following the Trail takes us uphill and we
discover we have come to a "Y"
You must decide to take the Trail to the
left or the trail to the right. (or as Yogi would say,
"When you come to a fork in the road, take it")
Take the Trail to the left .........
It will take us to "Pine Point"
| |
| |
If you have made the left turn as we
recommended, take the Trail down towards "Pine Point."
Make sure you have your camera as you will
want to take some photos down at "Pine Point"
